Biography

President José Manuel Barroso
No doubt Karol Wojtyła deserves to be celebrated as one of the founding fathers of a reunified Europe. He never stopped reminding us that our fellow citizens who were left behind the iron curtain remained Europeans, despite the ideological, economic and military partition of the continent by the Cold War parties. Hence, they should not be deprived of the right that derives from this common identity: to become part of the European project. His influence stretched and still stretches today beyond the boundaries of the Catholic Church. Indeed, Karol Wojtyła played a crucial role in shaping the fate of our continent and world in the transition of the 20th century into the new millennium.

It is well known just how magnificent the spiritual guide of Pope John Paul II has been. Biography

Professor Zbigniew Brzeziński
For me, Pope John Paul II is the first true spiritual and religious leader on a global scale in the history of mankind. Until now, all religious leaders appealed to limited audience both in theological and geographical way. John Paul II overcame these limitations not only by using mass media effectively and skillfully, but also by the power of his personality and deep spirituality.

Biography

President Shimon Peres
Substituting war with peace, hate with love, supporting the spirit of tolerance and mutual respect became his mission. A line from one of his poems became the essence of Him: 'Love explained everything to me, love solved everything'. How true these words are in these times of violence and terror. He also said: What concerns the family, concerns the nation and the world in which we live. This philosophy ought to be introduced to the consciousness of the family of nations.
